Kabiru and welcome to Njenga Jewels!! I wanted to introduce you to another little project I have on the go...
After leaving school, I was lucky enough to travel to Nairobi, Kenya to work for a great cause, Kenya Children's Homes. While there, I met a 2 years old boy named Michael Njenga. He was orphaned and being taken care of, with his 2 sisters, by the Home and his 'House Mumma' Jane. Michael is the inspiration behind 'Njenga Jewels' as his energy, love and humour touched me. Now, after SEVERAL journeys back and forth to Kenya and seeing Michael grow into a happy and healthy child, I am delighted to bring this project to you.
I make and sell homemade jewellery and accessories with 10% of the profits going to the home that inspired it all. I make African inspired pieces with lovely wooden beads and semi-precious stones as well as more contemporary items like quirky charm bracelets and necklaces. I use recycled beads, buttons and charms to make unique pieces.
I am available for craft fairs, events or individual sale and I am happy to customise and fit an item to your specifications. Items will be available for sale here soon so I'll keep you posted ;-)
Asante Sana!!
